Sorry about last blog cutting short the computer is taking ages to work and people waiting! Went to Phu Quoq - island near Cambodian border for a few days. Stayed on Long beach first but water was very rough and after a couple of days decided to move to the other side of the island. Tania spotted a snake in the rafters of the restaurant which the locals proceeded to pull down followed by a few others which were up there- one went in a bag probably for a dinner the others slithered off!! We then moved to great beach on the other side but very quiet apart from the thundrstorm which laste about two hors and caused the water to turn red with the run off from surrounding areas- unfortunately I didn;t have camera with me. As I said the rain seems to be following us and during the storm the building we were sheltering in got struck by lightning!! It went right throgh us both sitting immersed in water!! Quite a jolt! Now in Can Tho in delta area after getting ripped off for the umpteenth time here in Vietnam - got taxi from ferry stop supposedly to bus station but of course being Vietnamese they take you to their mate's minibus who tries to charge four times the gouing rate for bus to where we are now, not only that the taxi driver tries to charge for taking us miles out of our way also! River trip today although very nice through canals with locals selling wares from boats but! subject of another scam - boat driver takes you to mates restaurant and then eats meal which we have to pay for!! Nothing new there - Although Vietnam has been very nice this sort of thing grinds you down after a while! Souinds like I am continually moaning about it so this is the last time!! Flying to Hong Kong in a couple of days and then Phillipines. Thanks for all comments on blog - Shelley- must be nearly time for you to go back to w---k. Cant quite bring myslef to type whole word!!
